Introduction to Racing
Our Introduction to
Racing allows young skiers the opportunity to join in the FUN of ski racing at
Mt. Hood Meadows. If you are looking to improve your skiing skills in a group
environment with awesome coaches and discover the thrill of racing down the
mountain in a safe and controlled environment, then the Meadows Race Team has
what you are looking for. This is a one year program only. Skiers having
“Graduated” the Meadows Race Team’s Intro to Racing Program are then referred to
a more advanced training group the following year.
Description:
This program is
specifically for skiers age 6-13 who are looking to find out more about this
exciting sport. It begins in early January with the Meadows Race Team. Program
runs weekend days through Mid-March each year. This program focuses on the development of
sound alpine skiing skills with an emphasis on FUN, skiing fundamentals, free
skiing and some gate training. This program finds the balance needed to develop
the love of skiing as a Life Sport with solid coaching and a FUN approach!
