Meadows Race Team (MRT) is very excited to welcome the best in the West as we  host the 2006 JIII Junior Olympics at Mt. Hood Meadows Resort in Oregon. We know you'll agree that that Mt. Hood Meadows provides exceptional terrain, well suited for racing all events at this level.

 

You will find MRT’s race crew are a highly experienced group with a proven track record of hosting professionally run events.  We have the proven skills, experience and resources necessary to put on a truly “classic” event that are sure to surpass your expectations in performance, quality and organization for this level.

TEAM LODGING INFORMATION

The Hood River Inn is just 30 miles to Mt. Hood's largest ski resort, Mt. Hood Meadows. Guests enjoy $25 all day/all night lift tickets, as well as complimentary breakfast when taking advantage of our Skier Special. Mt. Hood Meadows offers 2150 acres of skiable terrain, 2,777 vertical feet, day care and more.

Located on the banks of the Columbia River over half of the guest rooms have breathtaking views of the river. All rooms have queen beds, in room coffee and tea, in room hairdryers, iron and ironing board, in room movies and  Free HBO.

RELEASE WAIVER

Mt. Hood Meadows Resort requires a release wavier from all competitors and coaches participating in the JIII Junior Olympics and JIV Festival. Please bring a completed form with you to give to your teams' head coach before the first team captain's meeting, Wednesday at 6:00.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

Hood River is located less than 15 hours drive from Salt Lake and most other areas except for Anchorage and Los Angeles.  Round trip airfares from Los Angeles to Portland are approximately $255.00 and from Anchorage to Portland are approximately $410.00 (location is approximately 45 miles for Portland airport).

TEAM COORDINATORS / MANAGERS INFORMATION

·      Entries will only be accepted from Division Managers / Offices. Entry deadline is 5 PM PDT, March 13th, 2006, by e-mail: admin@meadowsdraceteam.org . Please use separate entry forms or sheets for Male, Female and J3,J4 AND include seeding selections for each discipline .

·      Team Housing, advance lift ticketing* and Meal plan bookings will only be accepted from Division Managers / Offices.

·       In total 94 rooms have been blocked as per quota of male and female athletes (J3 and J4) plus coaching staff based strictly on 2 people per room. Division Manager's deadline to confirm Team reservations or meal plans is February 27th, 2006, by phone at: 1-800-828-7873.

·      Meals plan will begin, Thursday morning the 23rd, with breakfasts and diner served in Inn and lunches at the mountain. The banquet will be held on Saturday night, the 25th  at the Hood River Expo center.

·      Each team will be provided with wax a room which can accommodate 5-6 people at a time. The area will be open until 10pm daily, but is not considered a secure area.

·      Daily team captain's meetings will be held in the hotel at 6PM.

·      Oregon Snow Park Permits are required for vehicles parking at Mt. Hood Meadows Resort. Permits are available from guest services at the resort. Day permits are $5, annual permits are $15.
