  Gate Keeper

Why become a USSA judge or official? Taking part as a competition judge or official is exciting -- it brings you into the heart of the action! And it's a way of helping the thousands of young athletes who enter USSA competitions to have fun and to achieve personal goals.

While this is the hardest job on this hill it is the most important and your participation in this

critical position is key to the success of any race.  The most important decision you will make

is correct or direct passage of your assigned gates.  Please watch the attached video for

a complete description of this position.

    Course Crew

Its 5:00 am.  your tired but you had dreams of holding a shovel or rake in your hand.  Your

the crew that makes the surface of the race usable.  You are the person that the kids

depend on to make it the best race possible.    Course crew like the gate judge is an

integral part to ski racing.  Without volunteers to help keep the race venue SAFE and

pristine our kids would not be the shining stars that they are.  Come out, volunteer, pick

up a shovel or a rack and say " Lets make it a great day".
